How to Make Coffee

Other than how to properly store whole bean coffee, what is the best way to make coffee at home is perhaps the most common question we hear week in and week out. The short answer is, however you like to make coffee at home. Seriously, there are about a dozen perfectly legitimate extraction methods (fancy way of saying “making coffee”) you can use in the comfort of your own home. The main considerations would be how much time, effort, and money are you willing to put into the process? I love pour overs however it is also nice once in a while to use a french press. Home automatic drip coffee machines or K-Cup machines are perhaps my least favorite. In case you were looking for an expert opinion on which home coffee brewer is the best, here is an article from the Specialty Coffee Association for your consideration:

Never has the phrase “you gotta do you” been more important than when it comes to coffee so even if everyone you know disagrees with your methods, if the coffee ends up the way you like it then by all means continue….
