Other than how to properly store whole bean coffee, what is the best way to make coffee at home is perhaps the most common question we hear week in and week out. The short answer is, however you like to make coffee at home. Seriously, there are about a dozen perfectly legitimate extraction methods (fancy way of saying “making coffee”) you can use in the comfort of your own home. The main considerations would be how much time, effort, and money are you willing to put into the process? I love pour overs however it is also nice once in a while to use a french press. Home automatic drip coffee machines or K-Cup machines are perhaps my least favorite. If you are one of the legion of followers flocking to the counter of the local coffee shop for cold brew coffee then you already know the deadly combination of sweet and strong that comes from brewing coffee without heat. Cold brew also has approximately 60% less acid as compared to regular brewed coffee for those with a delicate stomach or those seeking to lower their overall body PH levels.
